Canucks Outsider Live Game 5 is here starting at 5:30p.m.-ish Pacific 3 May 07

Check out Dave's cool announcement. To get in on the live chat go to ustream.tv/canucksoutsider or join us in IRC at #canucks-outsider at irc.freenode.net OR skype northvandave Oh and props to the mighty ustream.tv crew for giving us instantaneous tech support during Game 4. ustream.tv rocks!

Kyte.tv is great for sharing mobile pics with chat, doesn't do live video YET

Hello Kyte! Please add video support and fix your URLs

No disrespect but don't believe the hype from Tech Crunch and Read/Write web; kyte.tv isn't (yet) as great as The Skyte :-) the Java applet is cool; it allows me to upload photos very quickly in real time over WiFi, GPRS or 3G from my N93 (check out my RolandTV channel) and chat about those photos but it would be cooler if you could do video. Looking forward to video support (i'd settle for 3GPP but love if it supported the N93's glorious 640x480 video).

Suggestions:

  • Don't call it kyte.tv if it doesn't do live video!!!! I am sure that is coming.
  • Fix the chat to allow cut and paste
  • Fix those URLs please: http://www.kyte.tv/channels/browse.html;
  • jsessionid=na3urj9uqokh.as02?first=0&mode=LATEST#uri,channels/1114 belongs to 1999 no disrespect intended!

Vancouver PHP Free Geek and Lucene Search Engine Talk will be videocasted live using ustream.tv

Technology willing, I'll be videocasting live using ustream.tv tonight's Vancouver PHP meeting where Free Geek and the Lucene Search Engine will be presented. Come to Bryght at 1 Alexander Street, Suite 400 in Gastown and see it live from 6:30-8:30p.m. tonight if you don't feel like watching it on the internet!

Canucks Outsider Live Videocast with ustream.tv on Saturday at 5p.m.

Technology willing, Dave Olson and I and his awesome cast of hockey pundits will be doing a live Canucks Outsider webcast using ustream.tv Saturday at 5p.m. Pacific to coincide with Game 6 of the Canucks/Dallas Series. Dave and the gang will be commenting live on the game on video over the internet!

Fingers crossed that there won't be a Game 6. If there's no Game 6 we'll still go live for a couple of hours as I am sure we'll have tons to say about the quest for the Stanley Cup.

[Gear help: If anybody has a 4 mike mixer and a couple of mics, I'd love to borrow them for our 'cast. Contact me roland AT rolandtanglao.com or call me at 694 729 7924 OR leave a comment].

Right click on flash movie to make ustream.tv work on your PPC Mac and iSight

Simply right-click on any flash movie in ustream.tv (e.g. the one on the home page of ustream.tv) and set the microphone and camera to  your iSight or whatever you want and done. My guess is that sometimes the Adobe Flash camera recording applet has messed up default settings. Thanks for the excellent support, Chris!

From email from Chris Yeh, ustream investor of some sort:

QUOTE

Here's something the team found:

"You may have have to update your Flash setting, however. If you are finding that     your iSight isn't working with Flash, right-click on any Flash movie and choose     "Settings...", then click on the camera icon. Choose "IIDC FireWire Video" from the menu. You can also use the iSight for audio by clicking on the microphone icon and choosing "iSight"."

Got ustream.tv to work with my Canon DV camera over Firewire

Got my ustream.tv webcast to work with my Canon DV camera over Firewire. Here is my 'cast: Roland's Mundane TV. It wouldn't work with my iSight with my Power PC Powerbook G4. Strange but true :-) ! Guess the ustream.tv crew only tested with intel Macs!

ustream.tv doesn't stream video with PPC Macs and iSight?

I can't get ustream.tv to stream video with my Power PC Powerbook G4 and iSight. I know it works with MacBook Pros (because atmasphere got it to work). Any clues or workarounds would be appreciated. I have tried Firefox 2 and Safari. Email roland AT rolandtanglao.com or leave a comment.
