Like the car industry, the bicycle industry doesn't care about safety. If they did they'd lobby for separated bicycle lanes and have turn signals, brake lights, etc as standard equipment on commuter bicycles
- It goes without saying mandating speed limiters and other car safety measures would help a lot more than regulating or adding safety features to bicycles ; we should do both :-) !
